CEO Leadership Experience

Serving as President & CEO of a nationally recognized college preparatory school gave me a broader leadership platform beyond athletics. It strengthened my ability to lead complex organizations, set strategic direction, manage teams, support faculty and staff, collaborate with boards, and ensure long-term institutional health.

This role broadened my executive competencies, sharpened my strategic thinking, and reinforced my commitment to servant leadership.

How CEO Leadership Strengthens My Athletic Director Profile

My CEO experience has made me a more effective and complete athletics leader by enhancing my ability to:

  • Understand institutional priorities at the highest level

  • Communicate effectively with presidents, boards, and senior leadership

  • Lead cross-functional teams

  • Manage crisis situations and complex personnel issues

  • Prioritize financial stewardship

  • Build culture and alignment across diverse departments

  • Navigate political and community dynamics

  • See athletics as part of the institution’s overall story, not a standalone unit

This experience enables me to lead an athletics department with a broader, more strategic, and mission-driven mindset.

Leadership Mindset

I bring a CEO approach to athletics:

  • Be transparent and accessible

  • Build trust in every direction

  • Lead with clarity and purpose

  • Uphold standards with integrity

  • Invest in people and culture

  • Communicate consistently and honestly

A strong athletics department begins with strong leadership, principled decision-making, and alignment with the school’s mission.
